MEET STACEY.

 

"Feel better, move better." That is the philosophy Stacey Roberts, better known as Fitness Momness, has built her fitness empire on. A fitness enthusiast and Mom of 4, Stacey creates workout programs focused on accessibility and long-term success, inspiring her community to reach their goals and go beyond them. 

Stacey recently dropped "Strong AF (and Functional)," her killer 6-week strength training program created for every body. To celebrate, we collaborated to create the Strong AF necklace, and are beyond excited to have Stacey in the OXB community. 

 

 

WHAT IS YOUR 'DAY JOB'?

 

Group fitness instructor.

 

WHAT DOES A DAY IN YOUR LIFE LOOK LIKE?

 

Juggling mom life with four kids, engaging with my community online, lots of programming workouts and filming them. I spend a lot of time replying to emails and handling the not so fun logistics of running a business but I try and take daily walks to soak up fresh air and sunshine while doing that. I love to unwind in the evening with the family. We like to play four square in the air, corn hole, and jackbox party games. 

 

WHAT IS THE ONE 'NON-NEGOTIABLE' PART OF YOUR DAY? 

 

Definitely need my warm drink in the morning, either coffee or perk energy. I also make sure to have some relaxed time to start the day, even if I have to wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual.

 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO SWEAT?

 

Strength workouts for sure! I enjoy a variety of workouts but nothing boosts my mood and energy like a strength session. 

  

WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

 

Mentally checking out of work and quality time with family and friends. Love going on a date with my husband and finding new fun restaurants.

 

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT TO DATE?

 

I am proud of the business I have built, truly with much sweat and occasional tears. But proudest moments are my kids. They rock. They are amazing humans and make me prouder every day.

 

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE 'STRONG AF'?

 

There are so many benefits to strength training, both mental and physical. I wanted to create a program that would be accessible to as many people as possible. Something cost effective you can do from home with minimal equipment. It truly makes me happy to help others feel and function their best.

 

WHAT'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSONS (BIG OR SMALL!) YOU'VE LEARNED FROM PLAYING SPORTS, BEING A PART OF A TEAM, OR YOUR OWN PERSONAL FITNESS JOURNEY?

 

I have to say two things. First, getting out of my comfort zone. It’s hard to try something new, hard to push yourself, hard to get uncomfortable but so much growth happens when I get out of my comfort zone regularly. Second, ongoing education. Realizing no matter how much I learn there is always more to learn and grow from. Realizing that there will always be new data, new methods, new studies, new ways to grow and improve and keeping an open mind and seeking education is a game changer!

 

WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO? 

 

I’m looking forward to a fun family vacation to unwind and create some fun memories later this year. Also looking forward to a new fitness program I am working on that I think will help a lot of people.

 

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE OXB PIECE TO SWEAT IN? 

 

The Strong AF necklace of course! I love all of the jewelry but especially the necklaces. Gives that little bit of spice to my outfit without hindering my workout.

 

WHAT IS A MANTRA YOU LIVE BY? 

 

Work hard, play hard. Also be a kind human :)
